How did I get into pet portraits? I originally painted landscapes in oil and my collie was my constant companion as I painted. When she passed I lost interest in painting. Then I discovered coloured pencils and, after drawing a portrait of her, I realised I enjoyed drawing pets. Since then I've drawn many other dogs, cats and horses and have been encouraged by the delighted responses I've had from their owners. All I need is a clear, high quality photo of your pet.
I pour my heart into the portrait commissions I accept. Which is why I keep in touch with you throughout the whole process:
I study your photos and ask about your pet
I carefully choose the colours to match - using professional high grade pencils that are resistant to fading
I offer to share progress photos with you, unless you prefer to just see the final result.
I make sure you are delighted with the final result before delivering.
